Title
Nettlewood Professional Park - Asheville North Carolina, Professional Parks
Description
Surrounded by the majesty and charm of the Blue Ridge Mountains, something in the way Asheville has evolved over the years helps it to maintain its strong heritage but at the same time opens its arms to innovation. Recipient of an All-America City Award in 1997, Asheville is fueled by two major industries - manufacturing and tourism - blending with health care, electronics, and service and trade businesses, which are the area's largest employers. As a result, the city and county have a diverse economy that provides increased opportunities to area residents. Buncombe County's average unemployment rate of 5 percent is considered the benchmark for full employment.
Asheville is located in the heart of Western North Carolina at the junction of Interstate 26 and Interstate 40, , approximately 65 miles from Greenville, S.C.; 125 miles from Charlotte, N.C.; and 200 miles from Atlanta, GA. The Asheville area is also served by 10 US and state highways. The Blue Ridge Parkway has four accesses in the Asheville area (one access is less that a mile from the Nettlewood entrance) An expanded I-26 corridor linking Western North Carolina and northeast Tennessee is currently underway.
Asheville Regional Airport, 15 miles south of Asheville on I-26, is serviced regularly by jet and commuter airlines. Daily flights provide connections to all major cities and it is currently the fourth largest airport in North Carolina.
