Entrepreneurism has created considerable success for many in the National Capital region, and it remains a driving force in our economic future. With success, however one judges it, comes great opportunity—the opportunity to use your talent, energy, and resources to help others. This, after all, was the premise upon which Netpreneur was built. And we believe it will be one of its most enduring legacies.
When the time is right for you, we urge you to find a way to make a difference in the lives of others in our community who also deserve their opportunity. There are many ways for you to get involved in the National Capital region —volunteering, donating funds, time, or services, even just learning more about the issues. Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP) was born as a result of work by a small group of individuals who came together to explore strategies to make philanthropic giving more effective. These men and women felt that one way to address some of society’s most difficult social challenges was to influence change in the flow of resources that that underpins the nonprofit sector. Many of them started out as netpreneurs and found in their success a strong desire to help in a way that could support the efforts of great community leaders here in the National Capital region—and, through their success, influence change on the sector as a whole.
