The National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association was founded in 1998 and is the parent breed club of the Entlebucher Mountain Dog in North America. NEMDA’s goals are to protect and advance the best interests of the Entlebucher Mountain Dog. NEMDA’s objectives are to:

Encourage and promote quality in the breeding of the Entlebucher. Educate the public about the nature of the breed and the responsibilities of ownership. Protect and maintain the breed in accordance with the FCI (Federation Cynologic Internationale) standard of excellence. To improve the health of the breed by maintaining an open genetics data base which contains health information on Entlebuchers, normal and affected. Encourage and promote medical research concerning genetic defects which may afflict the Entlebucher. Maintain a Entlebucher Rescue program. Protect and advance the best interests of the breed, including encouraging participation and good sporting conduct at dog sports such as dog shows, obedience, herding, agility, search and rescue, and canine good citizen events. Maintain an internationally recognized registry for purebred Entlebuchers with a comprehensive database.
