Neighbornets

Neighbornets are social networks of people who are located in the same general place, and who share resources, time, and friendship.

Neighbornets are nothing new. People have been connecting within the same general neighborhoods for thousands of years -- and perhaps for as long as there have been cities. What is new is our renewed self-recognition (in "the West") that we are connected with one another, and a new set of tools (including the Internet and Social Network Analysis) that can be used to help support neighbornets.
