Modern-day criminals have proven themselves to be transnational in reach, strategic in their thinking, linked by sophisticated networks, highly adaptive in their techniques, and technologically savvy. In response, local police need to develop strategies that are equally adaptive and networked. This requires a new approach: Intelligence-Led Policing – a management philosophy based on improved intelligence operations to understand and quickly adjust to changes in the operating environment.
