Description
From the Mind to the Marketplace
The North Carolina Biotechnology Center, located in Research Triangle Park, is the world's first government-sponsored organization dedicated to developing the biotechnology industry.
Created by North Carolina General Assembly in 1984, the Biotechnology Center's mission is to provide long-term economic and societal benefits to the state through the support and growth of biotechnology research, business and education throughout the state.
These goals are met by the Biotechnology Center's staff of 60 professionals fostering industrial development in the state, strengthening the state's existing biotechnology academic and research capabilities and by establishing North Carolina as the preeminent international site for the rapidly growing field of biotechnology.
