Title

NCATA - NCATA's Directory of Translators and Interpreters

Description

NCATA was established in 1980 and is now one of the largest local chapters of the American Translators Association (ATA). Our steady increase in membership during the past decade testifies to the importance of the translation and interpreting professions in the Washington, DC area.

NCATA hosts professional development workshops several times a year, giving members the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and polish their skills. Individual and corporate/institutional members meet face-to-face at an annual Job Fair, to expand and enhance their professional network. The chapter publishes an on-line Directory of Translators and Interpreters of its members. The searchable version can be accessed on this site.

The chapter newsletter, Capital Translator, appears several times a year with full-length articles, announcements, dictionary and technology reviews, and other valuable features. It is also available on this site. NCATA sponsors sittings of the American Translators Association certification examination every year, and organizes workshops to help prepare. And finally, the chapter closes out each year with a Holiday Party.
