- NCaHome is changing real estate marketing in Northern California. The Real Estate industry as a whole has historically settled on 3% per side, and has resisted attempts by clients to obtain lower commission rates. That 3% rate per side (6% per transaction) paid on today's closings is excessive and disproportionate to the services rendered. And, over the years, many agents have become "spoiled" by these excesses, behaving as if commissions are "entitlements" rather than earnings. And all too often other service providers (title, escrow, mortgage brokerage, etc.) indulge and treat the real estate broker as their "customer" -- rather than the buyer and seller.
