Fifty years ago, he was running a textile and tailoring shop at 525, Galle Road, Bambalapitiya. He decide that it was hard work but he would achieve the highest standards in tailoring by grooming his two sons, Navavi and Ramly. He put them through extensive training in tailoring so that excellence could be achieved by them. When he was satisfied that they could be depended on to achieve his dreams, he brought them into the business.
