About the Art: The domes come in 3 standard sizes, Sm, Med & Lg. They come in three basic layouts, a center wood piece with decoration all around it, wood set to the back and decorated to the front, and a center bouquet of flowers with decoration around it. Besides butterflies and beetles, each piece is decorated with mosses, lichens, ferns, rocks, crystals, nuts, flowers, feathers and all kinds of other natural treasures. I've been asked, why does this one have 6 butterflies and another only one? My favorite answer is, if Mona Lisa had her sister in the painting with her, would it make a better painting? My least favorite one I did was for a friend who I let pick out all the butterflies. I managed to fit them all in, but it was messy looking and a color desaster. She still loved it, but my friends and family agreed it wasn't the best I'd done. The thing is that some butterflies are so large and grand that to add another would just clutter the piece up. It just won't look as good. Some butterfly colors clash with each other. It all depends on the design or driftwood as to what it demands. A great piece has a good balance of visual weight and color. Sometimes a piece may take lots of work to get all the elements working together and other times it all falls right into place. It takes an artists eye to know when it's right and finished.
