Description
Bev and Barney McClung bought their first llama, the stud Sizzlin' Café au Lait, in July of 1994 from Lora Crawford, owner of the Lora’s Llama Ranch in Turlock, California. They soon added Stormy, Elizabeth Jane, Inka Dinka, Sizzlin' Joe and Sizzlin' Wind-E-O to their herd. They have also had several llamas born on the ranch, Duncan, Katie, Eddie, Fiona, Sarah, Freddie, Vicar, Dougal, Jamie, Liam, Malcolm and Shawn. Buddy, Pierre, Rockette and Jasmine started out as boarders. Rockette and Jasmine are now permanent members of the herd.
Bev has wanted llamas since she was a little girl. Barney spent a few formative years growing-up in Northeast Texas in the heart of cattle country and wanted to own a little farm. Thus was the motivation to start a llama farm. Now from the bucolic setting in the Napa Valley, Bev and Barney love to take their llamas for hikes. And though they love to talk about the llamas, they are even more excited to go traveling with them.
