Nannyjob - our history.
The owners of the site set up nannyjob in late 1999 when we were unable to find a nanny on the internet - at that time there was next to nothing around! The aim then, as it is now, was simply to enable nannies and au-pairs looking for work to link up with parents who needed childcare - either directly or through agencies.
Month by month we have added additional information. As well as having links to jobs and CV's posted on this site, we have also created links to jobs and CV's carried on various agency sites. Visitors can therefore view thousands of jobs from this one site.Over the years the numbers of visitors has grown steadily to the point where we now get over 150,000 visitors and 1,250,000 page impressions a month. All jobs and CVs are removed 30 days after posting but at any one time we carry over 2,500 jobs and 1,900 CVs.(June 2005)
We are not an agency but we do depend on logo advertising by agencies and posting fees by parents to fund the service. Advertising by agencies and other companies in the childcare sector may seem a little heavy at times, but without that advertising we would not be able to provide the free services to nannies and agencies.
