On February 14th , 2006 the AMERICAN BUREAU of SHIPPING (ABS) issued a formal survey report approving and accepting for use on its vessels our patended Bunker Fuels Continuous Drip Sampling Device (flange) as conforming to ASTM D 4177 guidelines, the MEPC.96 (47) IMO requirements and the MARPOL Annex VI, Regulation 18 requirements.
In the effort to assist the process of Marine Fuels bunkering, the ISO/TR 13739 Technical Report which advises on the practical procedures for the transfer of bunker fuels to ships can be consulted.
Effective November 2005, the revised version of ISO 8217:1996 (E) on the specifications of Marine Fuels was revised and published as ISO 8217:2005 (E). Changes include fewer Residual Fuel classes, revised parameters slate as well as revised parameter limits.
