WishList began as a consumer destination site. The founder, Keith Kraemer, was getting married and conceptualized a service that would make it easier for folks to build online gift registries and share them with friends and family. He then created the world's first universal gift registry. Through this site, consumers could shop virtually any online store and add products to a centrally managed "wish list". While this site received a number of rave reviews and quite a bit of positive user feedback, a new need presented itself: we received numerous e-mails from online merchants who were looking for a solution they could add to their sites. Well, we aim to please.
In April of 2000 we launched Version 1 of our unique application service. Right from the start, it proved to be an ideal solution for retailers. It was private labeled to respect the merchant's brand, full featured to give sites extra stickiness, and incredibly easy to install (less than two hours with no programming required). Since then we have continued to innovate and add features to our gift registry service, and have expanded our product offering to include related services to help merchants off ALL sizes to build relationships with their visitors, and grow sales.
