He has translated over 20 classics and major modern works by Emile Zola, Michel de Montaigne, J. J. Rousseau, Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras, André Gide, Claude Simone and others from French into Chinese, as well as many the works of Saint-Exupéry. Ma is a regular contributor to Rendition and other prominent Chinese magazines.
