Description
The Milwaukee Women's Center is a diverse human service organization that celebrates more than 20 years of providing comprehensive services and treatment to men, women and children whose lives have been affected by family/intimate partner violence, substance abuse, mental health and poverty.
The agency began in 1980 as an emergency shelter for battered women and children seeking refuge, safety and support from violent partners and homes. Over time, our services have expanded and changed to better meet the unique needs of our consumers.
Today, we provide ongoing prevention, intervention and treatment services to more than 2,000 men, women and children each year. Over 13,000 individuals are served annually through our 24-hour crisis line and community education programs.
