JAMS is an enterprise job scheduling solution. JAMS handles ALL of the following with ease: Cross-Platform Scheduling (Windows, UNIX, Linux, Nonstop, OpenVMS, etc.). File and Job Dependency Support to resolve any dependency issues, even across different operating systems. Resource Based Scheduling so that jobs only run when allocated resources are available. Detailed Auditing so that you can see when jobs ran, which accounts the jobs ran under, etc. Comprehensive Alerting if jobs fail, hang, run too long, etc.
If you are using Windows Task Scheduler and/or SQL Server Agents to run jobs, you can convert these jobs into JAMS in a matter of minutes. When you install JAMS, you will see TaskScheduler and SQL Server tabs. In here, you can set JAMS to automatically start monitoring jobs that are already running in Windows Task Scheduler and SQL Server. If you decide that you want to convert your existing Windows Task Scheduler and SQL Server Agent processes into JAMS, you click on the “Convert to JAMS” icon which is a wizard to walk you through moving jobs out of Windows Task Scheduler and SQL Server and into JAMS.
JAMS is the only batch job scheduling solution that is completely engineered on the .NET framework. This is extremely important as organizations continue to adopt .NET and develop more and more .NET apps. While any scheduler can run scripts, JAMS is the only solution that can be embedded in a .NET app so that the batch processing engine truly becomes part of your own application.
