Welcome to Mulberry Elementary School

Description

School Description

Mulberry School is a small rural school located in the rich agricultural area of Imperial Valley in Southern California. The Imperial Valley is a desert region located 45 miles west of the Arizona/California border and directly north of the Mexican border. Water from the Colorado River flows through the All-American Canal to make this area a winter vegetable garden for the United States. In the summer, temperatures are normally very hot. Students seek relief in air-conditioned schools, houses, and cars.

One of the oldest continually operating schools in our area, Mulberry boasts a rich heritage of community support and parent involvement. It is the smallest school in the county with about 85 students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade. While laying claim to our historical past, Mulberry is a school on the cutting edge of technology. All classrooms have high speed internet access and students utilize a variety of computer and media materials in their daily classroom work. Although we are small and geographically isolated, our goal is for Mulberry students to have access to resources and information that will allow them to understand and be a part of the larger global scene.

The school has undergone modernization and new construction projects that were completed in 2004. All classrooms and restrooms have been modernized to meet current building codes. The school has added a new classroom for kindergarten and first grades and a new cafeteria/multi-purpose room has been added.
