About MTWerks
MTWerks is a division of Bob's PCWerks, a computer services company specializing in Medical Transcription. PCWerks specializes in technical problems as well as upgrades, repairs, software installation and new systems designs with a focus on digital dictation systems. (See BobsPCWerks.com) MTWerks specializes in productivity--how to get the job done faster and easier.
All of MTWerks' products and services are developed by Laura Bryan, MT (ASCP), CMT, FAAMT. Laura is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in medical technology. After working in transplant immunology, hematology and chemistry laboratories, Laura began working in medical transcription. In 1999, Laura began teaching other transcriptionists new MS Word. What started as a class handout became a manual and subsequently led to three editions of the "Make It Your Own" manual, the third being published by Stedman's (Lippincott Williams and Wilkins). The MTs Guide to MS Word includes information based on feedback from MT's all across the country. Originally, seminars were held in the Dallas area, but demand spread, so MTWerks hit the road. Laura has visited over 25 states, presenting workshops, consulting and training MTs from the East coast to the West. In addition to transcribing, teaching and writing, Laura has worked with a development team to create a suite of digital transcription software (MedEDocs) which incorporates Microsoft Word.
Laura served on the AAMT Board of Directors in 2005 and has published numerous articles in Advance, For the Record, and Plexus. In addition to publishing books on MS Word and Windows, Laura was an associate editor for the CMT Review Guide developed by AAMT and published by Stedman's.
