With its vehicle systems MOWAG has set standards with respect to high levels of protection and excellent mobility. The success of the armoured wheeled vehicles of the PIRANHA family, the protected 4x4 vehicle EAGLE and the transport vehicle DURO is an impressive indication of the core expertise "Protected Mobility". World wide over 9'000 PIRANHA, 3'500 DURO and 500 EAGLE vehicles have been fielded.
Through the acquisition of the business unit "DURO" from the Swiss company Bucher-Guyer, MOWAG, together with its licensees, became a leading provider of armoured and non-armoured military vehicles in the overall weight range of 7 to 25 tons.
MOWAG employs over 500 qualified personnel at its location in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. Since March 2003 MOWAG belongs to the General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems Group. This is part of the General Dynamics Corporation (GD), with leading market positions in mission-critical information systems and technologies, land and amphibious combat systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and business aviation.
