About the MDH Founded in 1880, the Morris Daily Herald is a daily publication with a circulation of 7,950. A division of Shaw Newspapers, the Morris Daily Herald is published Tuesday through Saturday. Other publications include the Southwest Herald each Thursday and the Weekly Journal each Tuesday. Our History: The first publication in Morris was the Yeoman, a weekly newspaper begun in 1854. In 1878, a daily newspaper was established and in 1891, it was purchased by William L. Sackett.
