Description
It was Mark’s great grandfather Alexander James Morgan who began his love of horticulture over 100 years ago as the head gardener at the now famous Murray Downs Station. This passion for the land continued throughout the generations of the Morgan family.
However, with Mark and Gina’s commitments as Investment Bankers, their dreams of owning extensive land and growing premium fruit for wine wasn’t realised until the 21 st century.
As they say in the classics “better late than never”, Mark and Gina purchased the property that is now known as MorganField Vineyard in October 2003. They chose the site because it was within the heart of premium chardonnay and pinot noir territory.
