Description
The Mongrel Appreciation Club (M.A.C) was set up in June 2003 to unite mongrel lovers in Singapore. First initiated by mongrel lover Jason Chan, many keen mongrel lovers soon joined the club. Currently a 30-member strong club, it is motivated by one single goal, that is, to provide help to needy mongrels in Singapore.
Survival of the fittest is what matters in our society today. The mongrels are undeniably the product of many generations of societal evolution. From the days of kampong lives to the sprouting of high rise flats of today, these mongrels have remained our faithful companions. However, sadly enough, these mongrels are often undervalued. While they rely on their owners for love and care just like any other animals, many owners choose to abandon these mongrels for pedigree or purebreed dogs. Some people look at them with disdain and
It is time to do them some justice. These mongrels are after all, our very own local breeds of dogs. Let us appreciate our local breeds for showing the resilience to survive in adversity.
