You would think Los Angeles is an unlikely place for a walk in the wild. But it has an amazing array of hikes to offer. Here is one account.
Some wonderful Southern California road rides, that take you along the coast, where salt hangs in the air, and into the bustling little town of Ojai.
We were fishing about 50 miles out to sea Oct. 27 and 28, 2000, when the seas got rough. A woman on our boat, who was about three months pregnant, began having problems and we had to ask the Coast Guard to rescue her. These pictures show the helicopter approaching our moving boat, letting down a person and then a gurney (stretcher) and pulling the woman up. I got a message a few days later saying she was doing okay.
