Description

Choosing Health Care Practitioners

People respond to healing modalities in a variety of ways. It is said that more than 40% of healing comes from the "placebo effect" — meaning that it is not the drug or other therapy that cures, but the innate ability within the patient to heal that creates the positive outcome. The chosen therapy may be the catalyst for what already exists within for health and vitality. Into this equation, one must factor the belief system of the patient, including their positive or not so positive beliefs in the healer (i.e. doctor, chiropractor, acupuncturist, etc.) and related healing community (modern allopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and so on). The patient's belief and confidence in the healer and the healing community, modality, or system, is critical to the overall success, even when the placebo effect is negated and the outcome is seemingly hinged on the therapies employed. Thus, the mental and emotional state of the patient is considered important on the outcome of health and vitality over debilitation and decline. A person's beliefs in herself or himself, conditions in her or his life, emotional health and happiness, stress, and so on, also add to the overall impact on healing.

This is where I, as a health care practitioner, have an influence in a person's health and vitality. I have a lot or very little to offer, depending upon perception — on the patient's perspective.

I offer to you the training I have received, the life experiences I have been through, the compassion I have developed, the intuitions I have learned to listen to, and all other aspects of my being. This is either very little or a treasure chest of wealth, depending upon your point of view. It is your choice.
