This is M. Sasek is run entirely as a labour of love from a bedroom in Glasgow, Scotland. It is in no way connected to Miroslav Sasek, or his estate, or anything else for that matter. The seeds of it started on another site I look after called I like, which had a page devoted to Miroslav Sasek. This page proved to be very popular and lots of people got in touch asking about the books and where they could get hold of them. They also asked me about M. Sasek himself so I started to do a bit of research. I had been trying to find out more about him since finding This is London in a bargain bin. I was hooked.
Since then I've been doing a lot of work on this site, trying to piece everything together and dig up all the information I can about Miroslav Sasek and his works. As you can see, I've got somewhere at last, finding out more about his life, his other books and about the This is films. There still is a long way to go and I'd be very grateful for anyone who can help me complete the picture. If there is anyone reading this who has connections in Munich or Prague (or anywhere else Sasek was connected with) please get in touch. Likewise, if there are any librarians (particularly in the US) who would be able to do literature searches I would love to hear from you. I have scoured all the sources I can in the UK but there doesn't seem to be much written about him. It seems strange when the books were (and are) so well known and loved.
