So what in the heck is all this?
This is a "photoblog" or "photographic web log". I am far too {busy,lazy,preoccupied,apathetic} to do a "real" blog, but I/we do take a fair number of pics. It's intended for friends and family but everyone is welcome to browse around.
My camera
I recently got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1. Very nice unit, very small, and it does RAW format. Some people have said that the RAW write performance is very slow in this model. Not true, I got a 1Gb 150X SD card and RAW takes about 1-2 seconds to write. Some people, reviewrs mostly, have said that it's very noisy at ISO 200 and up. True, but a little post-processing cleans up the noise quite nicely. Overall a great little unit.
