Description
Mindy Myers took her first photography class almost 20 years ago and has not stopped exploring photography since. She studied photography and art at the University of California Santa Barbara before finishing her journalism degree at Drake University, where her photography won several national awards. Mindy's eclectic education and experience have resulted in a signature style of photo documentary portraiture that distinguishes all of her work. She specializes in capturing people through her work in documentary wedding photography, editorial portraiture, and Natural Child children's photography.
Mindy is well-known in Iowa as an outstanding artist who captures the souls of those she photographs. Her work has been published in wedding magazines and her images have been used to illustrate children's photography books. Her clientele has grown almost entirely by word of mouth and includes both regional and national clients. Most recently, Mindy was awarded three first-place finishes in the Wedding Photojournalist Association's 2005 contests resulting in a third-place standing for the 2005 Photographer of the Year award. She has perfected her art of shooting weddings in a more documentary and artistic style.
She shoots out of downtown's Catchlight Studios and manages her business at her home in Beaverdale where she lives with her husband, two daughters and assorted animals.
