Description

As long as I can remember, I have had a deep interest in history, particularly military history. While attending the University of Mississippi in 1975, I was introduced to reenacting by Dr. James Cook . I owe a deep debt to him for getting me started in this great hobby. Since then, I have participated in events spanning from the French & Indian War through WWII; meeting great people from all over the US and Europe. I have been a member of the Company of Military Historians since 1985.

After graduation from Ole Miss in 1979, I entered the US Army beginning my training as a 2nd LT in Armor at Fort Knox, KY. Upon completion of that school I was given the opportunity to attend flight training at Fort Rucker, AL where I graduated in August of 1980. From 1980 until I left active duty I served as an instructor pilot at the Army Aviation Center and with the 101st Airborne Division as an assistant battalion operations officer, battalion adjutant and company commander. During 1989 I was the Military Group - El Salvador, helo detachment commander.

I left the active Army in Oct of 1989 for civilian job as a flight instructor at Fort Rucker, AL flying UH-1 and CH47 helicopters. I continue to fly CH47's with the Mississippi National Guard.
