Description
Mike Cooper was born and raised in Washington State. He's been a firefighter with the Shoreline Fire Department for nearly 25 years, was named the Washington State Firefighter of the Year in 1997 and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant.
Mike served 4 terms in the state House of Representatives. While serving in the legislature he chaired the Fisheries, Ecology and Parks Committee and the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee. In addition, he served on the Transportation and Energy and Utilities committees. He has been recognized as the 1999 Maritime Elected Official of the Year, 1999 Washington State Labor Council Legislator of the Year, 1998 Edmonds-Woodway Alumni of the Year, 1997 state Firefighter of the Year, 2000 Plumbers & Pipe fitters Legislator of the Year, 2003 Inland Boatman's Union Legislator of the Year and more.
In addition to his legislative and firefighting accomplishments, Mike has been a member of the Edmonds Planning & Park Board, youth sports coach and a local Boy Scout leader.
