The Edmonton Métis Cultural Dance Society was formed in 1997 in order to preserve and promote the traditions of Métis Performing Arts and Music.
Since, we have developed a number of instructional programs, educational media, and of course the annual Métis Fest in order to expose the young and old of all communities to the richness of the Canadian Métis Heritage.
Several people over the years have confused squaredancing and clogging with our Métis dances. In fact, Métis people have their own traditional dances and traditional fiddle tunes made for those dances.
