In the mid-1950's a new plant was built at 300 Industrial Parkway in Chardon, OH. Manufacture of stationary boat docks began with the first shipments to Camp Mission Meadows on Chautauqua Lake, NY. The dock design evolved rapidly and Heavy Duty Floating Docks were first installed in 1970. Both the first stationary installation, Camp Mission Meadows, and the first floating dock installation in downtown Cleveland on Lake Erie are in good condition and in use!
Metal Craft® Docks also have a long history in salt water applications from Maine to Florida. For example, a 67 slip marina installed at Everglades City, FL in 1979 is still going strong.
The second owner of Metal Craft® came on the scene following the death of the founders in 1978. Metal Craft Docks Inc. was formed in 1991 with the purchase of the assets and equipment of the Metal Craft Co. from this second owner.
