Title
Dana Hyde's home and garden sculpture. Her unique pieces are handcrafted in stainless steel, weathered steel and copper
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- Originally a ceramic artist, Dana Hyde was introduced to metal work by her father at his welding shop in Brinnon, WA. After one lesson she was hooked, and on that foundation built her business, Metal & Mud. With a B.S. in Avian Science from University of California Davis, Hyde draws on her extensive knowledge of birds as well as her love and affinity for other animals to create art. Her Cherokee heritage also provides inspiration for ideas and designs. During an interval in her college education, Dana spent over 2 years in Europe where she studied the art and architecture of Spain, Italy and France. Upon completing her degree, she worked as a consultant on an ostrich farm; assisted at a veterinary hospital; operated a clay studio; then segued into teaching classes at a retirement community. Relocating to the Olympic Peninsula brought her closer to family and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
