The Mesa Police Department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and employs over 1,400 members. Mesa PD has 830+ sworn officers certified by the Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training Board (AZPOST). Mesa PD hires over 100 officers annually to account for attrition and new positions authorized by the Mesa City Council. The Mesa Fraternal Order of Police has over 850 sworn and civilian members in its parent and associate lodge. The Mesa F.O.P. represents all Mesa PD employees in Meet and Discuss sessions with Mesa City Management and the Mesa Police Department over wages, benefits and working conditions. Together with the Arizona Labor Council, the Mesa F.O.P. protects the rights of Mesa PD employees. Our legal package through the Arizona Labor Council is recognized nationwide as a leader in public safety legal protection.

While the Mesa F.O.P. is the labor organization for Mesa PD employees, we are still a charitable and fraternal organization. Diversity is the key to our success.
