Merit Contractors Associations, Canada wide, are not for profit organizations of open shop construction industry employers who have joined together to provide services and programs which benefit their employees and enhance their businesses. The Merit Contractors Association was formed in Alberta following the 1982-85 recession by owners and senior representatives of 15 general contracting firms concerned about the state of employee relations.
