About Us
The Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney established the Mercy Foundation, in the spirit of their Foundress, Catherine McAuley, who responded to the needs of her times in a practical and generous way.
Our work is based on the principle that systemic change enables people to be equal participants in society. Our focus is on long term solutions for social change so that all people can be active citizens and have equal access to resources.
Our History
The Foundation was launched on 24th September 1990 - the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy - in the 125th year since the establishment of the North Sydney Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy by Mother lgnatius McQuoin.
