Omega, manufacturer of some of the world's finest watches - and also the watch of choice for James Bond - was formed in 1848 by Louis Brandt who assembled precision pocket watches from parts by local craftsmen where he sold his watches from Italy to Scandinavia. The passing of Brandt in 1879 left his two sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar, to take over the business where they moved headquarters to the Gurzulen district of Biel.
