Title
Mendocino Maples Online Nursery
Description
Our nursery is a small, simple, family-run business. We began the nursery in 1990 as general ornamental plant growers, became enamored with maples and have been growing and collecting maples since 1992. We supply local nurseries, the local farmers markets, landscapers and the retail public. Each year we graft slightly over 1000 new trees. This relatively small amount allows us to care for our trees individually giving each plant the attention it needs to grow into a high quality tree. Mendocino Maples has about an acre of maples under production.
Our goal is to provide you with healthy exceptional trees. In particular, we are growing hearty varieties that flourish well in varied conditions. We have varieties that do well in the shade, sun, wet, dry and even windy conditions. We continue to search for and collect unusual maple varieties from around the world for the discerning landscaper and gardening enthusiast.
We have over 45 species of which there are more than 200 varieties to choose from. Many are rare and unusual. Some specimens are in limited quantities and several are for our collection only. However, if you are looking for a particular maple and it is on our complete maple list but not on our availability list, let us know and we can propagate it for you. All of our maples are container grown which translates to excellent transplant success any time of the year. This helps to insure that you will recieve a healthy tree that will grow vigorously from the start.
