Melbourne Hapkido Centre is unique in being the first branch of the Australian Hapkido Association (AHA) in Melbourne, making it possible to learn this dynamic art of self-defence while your gradings are nationally recognized as part of the Australian Hapkido Association — one of Australia's most recognised and progressive Hapkido organisations.
Our philosophy is to provide the highest quality of martial arts and self defence tuition in a safe, modern and friendly environment while still retaining an arts essential character and effectiveness unaltered for commercial or sporting reasons.
We firmly believe martial arts practice involves more than just kicking and punching. As well a thorough training in the physical techniques of an art we also endeavour to give our students an understanding of the background, philosophy and context of what we teach so a student can gain a deeper insight into what they are learning rather than just repeating mechanical actions.
