Adult Content Category Meeting 27 June 2007

Concerns

  • We did not want to accidentally mark pages that aren't adult content as adult content
  • We did not want to discard good categories with bad pages in them (e.g. Angelina Jolie, Kama Sutra)

Trade-Off

We needed to make a compromise of either marking some non-adult pages as adult or letting some adult pages slip through. We decided it would be better to let some adult pages get through.

Sorting

We decided we would go through the list of categories we marked as adult and organize them in the following way:

  • Explicit/Not Useful: The subject of the category title is explicit and is too broad to be useful
  • Explicit/Useful: The subject of the category title is explicit, but is useful
  • Not Explicit/Not Useful: The subject of the category is not explicit and is too broad to be useful
  • Not Explicit/Useful: The subject of the category is not explicit, but is useful

Process

  1. Tag pages in categories marked as ENU and EU as Category:PossibleAdultContent
  2. Discard categories marked as ENU and NENU
