The Medway Maritime Hospital is located in Medway, Kent. Medway is characterised by a highly populated urban area situated around the Medway estuary to the north, and to the west lay substantial rural areas. It is one of the largest urban conurbations in the south east outside of London. The Medway NHS Trust is one of four hospital trusts in Kent and Medway. Employing over 3,300 staff, the main focus of the Trust is to run the hospital in Gillingham.
