Mecon solves technological problems for its clients, and produces prototypes or small runs of the finished product if the client needs this. Our approach is to deliver a high-quality service tailored to the specific needs of the client by building a fresh team for each project. We give you the immediate contact with the people doing the work that you can only get via a small company; at the same time, working through our wide network, we ensure that the project team is always based on experts in the field. We encourage close and continuous contact between the client and the project team to ensure that the client knows exactly how his money is being spent. We pride ourselves on delivering what the client needs, on time and in budget.
Mecon Ltd was founded in 1991 to produce numerical modelling software based on the object-oriented approach. After successfully producing a fast boundary-element modelling package, Mecon extended its activities to include contract research and development.
Mecon’s founder, Dr Martin Thompson, came from a numerical modelling and dynamical testing background, working at British Gas’ prestigious Engineering Research Station before moving on to work at Schlumberger Cambridge Research. It was after five years’ experience in Cambridge that he founded Mecon.
