- I am a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and the fifth generation of McLaughlin's who have lived and worked in Tallahassee and surrounding communities . I grew up and attended Leon County public schools and then Florida State University where I eventually received my undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in Public Administration. I remained in Tallahassee, married, raised three children, and completed a 31 plus year career in public service at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. While working with the FDLE, I was in charge of statewide law enforcement training, the Crime Laboratories and managed a nearly $300 million budget. I served for over 10 years as Assistant Commissioner where I negotiated legislation and budgets on behalf of the agency with the Florida Legislature and the Governor and Cabinet. Toward the end of my career the Governor and the Cabinet appointed me as Interim Commissioner where I served until I retired in 2003. I am now in my second career in real estate where I am able to put my education and experience to work for you, my valued customer.
