Description
During the eighty years plus the practice has been in operation, all forms of architectural commissions from small scale additions to large scale multi-use developments have been undertaken. The company has undertaken projects in the Sydney Area, as well as regional areas and interstate.
The historical line of the architectural practice commenced in 1922 and has been situated on the lower north shore for the majority of this time. It has undergone various name changes having started as Rupert V. Minnett; Architect. It changed to Minnett Cullis-Hill Petersen & Powell in 1955 with Richard Petersen and Robert Powell joining as partners. With the resignation of Robert Powell, the firm became Minnett Cullis-Hill Petersen in 1980 becoming a registered company in 1982. In 1987 Frank Sciberras became a director and then Managing Director with the retirement of the final company namesake Richard Petersen. Minnett Cullis-Hill Petersen ceased trading in 2001 when MCHP Architects was incorporated.
MCHP Architects is now under the directorship of David Cahill and Chris Jones. Both have served within the practice for over 6 years and lead a team with strong abilities and an extensive range of experience.
