Description
Company Profile
McDermott Construction / McFour Ltd trade generally within a 100-mile radius of their North Shropshire Base. It is customary to only be involved with substantive civil engineering concerns and their reputable clients. Many noted projects embracing the skills and wide experience offered by McDermott Construction and their associated sister company McFour Ltd have successfully been under taken and completed within the past two decades.
During the 1990's McDermott's played a considerable role in the complete upgrading and re-routing of the A55 across North Wales, namely the Northop Bypass Travellers rest and Rhuallt Hill contracts. Offering the company the opportunity to demonstrate and provide specialist techniques in various and sometimes difficult ground conditions for the drainage required. This has lead to much repeat business which has proved mutually beneficial in achieving the fast track requirements usually sought by employers together with quality workmanship and desired control of cost parameters.
McDermott Construction's chosen business is not necessarily driven by the need for turnover, but usually by the challenge offered, location, and utilisation of resources, whether this means the allocation of trained labour of several years’ continuous employment or the correct use of our own modern high tech plant fleet. The gains from what is rightly perceived as a risk industry have regularly and at times been specifically ploughed into assets. As a consequence an excellent portfolio of plant has been purchased for our specific needs across a wide range from large excavators to an extensive range of modular trench support units in addition to the civil engineering disciplines and experience offered by McDermott’s. We retain the services of professionals whether these are required for programming objectives, temporary works design criteria or the enhancement of safety functions to example just a few. A directly employed much disciplined workforce giving continuity of objectives is regularly engaged while an extensive range of operated plant is owned. This can readily be supplemented seasonally with the additional resources of known associates. We are active members of the CITB and indulge in regular training of our operatives. The quality assurance plans implemented by both main contractors and their clients are embraced and adhered to on a contract to contract basis and we pride ourselves on having successfully completed contracts to a high standard of workmanship.
