MATV Channel 6 is the “jewel in the crown” for Leicestershire available completely free as the sixth terrestrial televison channel. Popular and widely watched, MATV Channel 6 is Leicestershire’s only Channel of Choice with a viewership and awareness extending to more than 180, 000 homes across the region. Broadcasting 24 hrs a day and 7 days week throughout the year, the channel has built a popular programming base mostly originated by talented producers and presenters sourced from all over the United Kingdom. The creation and production of television programmes supported by MATV Channel 6’s natural links with the Bollywood film industry has helped Leicestershire and the region to raise its profile in developing the area as a potential new “Bollywood film capital in Europe”.
Being “free to air” MATV Channel 6 has been at the leading edge in local terrestrial television in the region providing high quality local television entertainment, news, sport, views and information as it happens in Leicestershire, surrounding communities and elsewhere. The channel’s unique alliance with SAB TV, a major terrestrial broadcaster in India has made it into a leader in providing a balance of high quality and ethnically diverse entertainment for the whole family.
