Master of Plaster Finishing Systems, Inc. is a small family owned manufacturing company located in upstate New York, near the Canadian border, in the small hamlet of Essex.
Master of Plaster Finishing Systems, Inc. currently produces in excess of 110 tons of material annually. When we started business more than 30 years ago, we were in the restoration business and developed the Master of Plaster formula for our own use. Although the majority of our business then was ornamental plaster, we were constantly confronted with the problem of tying all of the flat surfaces together (back then you had to do all the plaster, not just the ornament). After years of struggling with bonding agents and their high failure rates with traditional plaster we decided to develop a plaster restoration system that would require no bonding agents, and could completely restore the original historic fabric of the building.
Since most restoration projects also include new construction with new materials such as sheetrock, we were confronted with the additional problem of making the new work match the old.
