Title

MarriageFairness.org - Supporting Equal Rights for Gay Couples

Description

About Us

With Vermont enacting Civil Unions and Massachusetts' recent legalization, gay marriage has become a significant issue in recent years. People on both sides of the issue have very strongly held beliefs. George Bush has voiced his support for a constitutional amendment and congress has begun their debates.

MarriageFairness.org is an online community for gay and lesbian couples to help educate the public about the effects a constitutional amendment would have on real people and real families. By allowing them to tell their story, we hope that people will better understand what gay couples are forced to endure because of the lack of a legal recognition of their relationship. People don't realize the over 1000 rights that gay couples are denied by this amendment.

The american public can be open minded when they hear both sides of an issue. Many are trying to decide how they feel about the gay couple next door or may not even know they have one. And more importantly, they don't understand why this issue matters or who it will affect. At the same time religious groups are proselytizing the end of society if gay and lesbian couples are allowed to marry.
