Description
Marianjoy now has a network of inpatient, subacute, and outpatient sites and physician clinics throughout the Chicago area. Through this network, Marianjoy provides comprehensive rehabilitation services in the treatment of stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders, orthopedic conditions and pediatric rehabilitation. In order to address an aging population and increased demand for rehabilitative services in the Chicago area, Marianjoy opened a new 175,000 square foot, all private room hospital in 2006 that offers state-of-the-art rehabilitative care. The original hospital building has been renovated into a spacious outpatient services pavilion.
Because rehabilitation is all about getting people back to a lifestyle of their choosing, Marianjoy is dedicated to advocating on behalf of individuals with disabilities, helping them find their way to an independent and fulfilling life. To this end, Marianjoy founded an employment website for individuals with disabilities (www.AbilityLinks.org) and the Marianjoy Scholarship Program to assist students with physical disabilities in pursuing their educational goals.
Marianjoy is a member of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, which owns and operates more than 100 health and shelter service organizations in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.
