Founder Paul E. Marchant bought his first baseball trading cards in 1955, from a little corner grocery store in his home town of Paris, Illinois. His love for card collecting continued through his high school and college years, when Paul often bought his friends� card collections. In the early 1970s, when Paul was a high school math teacher, he still continued to collect cards, but he also started selling cards, first at trade shows, and then later through mail order.
